has anyone seen the movie "life of pi"? a friend mentioned she wanted to see it, I asked her if she'd read the book and she said no. Not having seen the movie I couldn't tell her to read the book first. Are they pretty different? will knowing the book make one dislike the movie? or enhance the story in the movie?

I think it means that Tom can watch on his iPad, but Tom, does it allow you to watch as many times as you like, whenever you like? Was it expensive?

Olle, haven't seen the movie yet but I really want to. I read and loved the book and those I've spoken to have loved the movie - both those who have read the book and those that haven't.

I thought the movie version of Life of Pi was similar to the book, but I read the book years ago, and it is possible that my memory is faulty. I'm not sure one would need to have read the book first in order to enjoy the movie, but I think people who see it should not go alone. There is just as much to talk about in the film as there was with the novel, in my opinion.

I saw Life Of Pi last week, and thoroughly enjoyed it - visually epic! Don't need to read it first I'd say...
