watched a very difficult film:EARTH based on Cracking India, a book written by Bapsi Sidwha, who also wrote The Crow Eaters, which I really enjoyed. The film was about the division of India into Pakistan and India and the horror that displaced millions of people and turned Sikh, Hindu, and Muslim into violent mobs committing atrocities. it's one of those where you come to care about people and yet they die. Very rough to watch. Much tougher than I expected and I saw Water (another part of the trilogy of films), which was so different.

I would be interested to see how the movie turned out, but will wait for a DVD version. Don't think that I need to see some of the drastic
scenes on movie screen.
