4.25 Loved the writing; I think the grace of Roseanne and her examination of memory will stay with me--heck if she can remember, I can.

This might be the hardest book for me to rate as of yet. I loved the language but I found the time jumps to be a bit hard to follow. It is not the author's
fault that the book depressed me! If I rate on the writing alone I would go 3.5. Depression level: 1.5. What to do!

I loved it and give it a 4.5. Loved the writing and the story.

Deb, if you take the average of your scores that's a 2.5, nice middle of the road number. :)

Well, I loved the language, and the story was OK but I realised that only 1 or 2 days later, I almost couldn't remember what it was all about! So I
don't think it will stick with me, and that's why I marked it down. I also found myself skipping some paragraphs which, although beautifully written,
didn't seem to go anywhere.
I'm glad others here seem to like it a lot though - since it was my nomination!

LOLLL Jane, it's such a relief when that happens--that at least others loved it. When we nom, we can only 'taste' a book--no guarantees. I
haven't kept track but my impression is, you've got a pretty good record.

Oh, poor Jane, you're about to be damned if you do and damned if you don't since another of your noms is up soon -- The Earth Hums in B Flat.
Honestly, if I'd heard of that book before you I would have nominated it just for the title.
Like someone else said somewhere else -- with such a great title, can the book even live up to it? LOL (What is that old saw about not judging a book by it's cover? How about not judging one by its title?)

So true Karen! Well at least the Secret Scripture was the right way round ie. I wasn't too sure, but others liked it. Worse if it were the other
way round! I would add that I am loving Angel's Game.
