Olle, it's healthy fats, healthy carbs. Phase 1 (which I'm trying to do in desperation since we leave for Mexico in 4 weeks) does indeed forbid bread
and pasta. One of the many, many phase 1 snacks is celery and Laughing Cow cheese -- spreadable and low fat -- and since it's easy and I actually like it,
I use it a lot.

Those with high fiber content: beans, whole wheat breads and pastas, most fruits but not fruit juices.

I thought laughing cow cheese was made with whey. Isn't that a carb?
Poor Ruth Oh Karen, let us know how the concert is.

About WaWa...It's a dairy with outlets all over South Eastern PA and presumably adjoining states like Jill's VA. Think Cumberland Farms or even 7/11
type places to run into for milk, soda, bread etc. It was a word from local Indian tribes meaning "Wild Goose." Silly sounding word but that's
where that nasty sandwich comes from. Ick. No thanks. Dh Curtski is addicted to a breakfast burrito from a local fast food place and I wouldn't touch it on
a bet!

I'm having an awful time trying to keep up with my online folks, and it'll only get worse this week. I'm headed a couple hundred miles north to
Door County for a three day painting class. I've been working like crazy taking reference photos and trying to improve my skills in using acrylics. ANyway,
it's always a good thing to concentrate on one thing at a time, and for a few days it'll be art instead of reading. Try not to post too much!

I'm SOOO happy to have my widdle vroom vroom back... driving a loaner always makes me nervous
Btw, can someone explain UPS math to me... a parcel destined for Tulsa, OK starts in NV, then goes to CA, then to KY, then to TX, then (hopefully!) to OK; Now, I could understand going from NV to CA to TX to OK (warehouse to regional hub to regional hub to destination) but going all the way east to KY makes no sense to me. As for the sandwich, a cheap one from a fast food place - BLEH, but I have fond memories of the sausage/egg/cheese bagel sandwich I used to get from a neighborhood deli back in New York (pre-WW of course; I'm sure one of those bad boys was a least a day's worth of points)

Sherry, sounds delightful. We want to hear and *see* the results of your trip!
I know not of whey. All I can say is that Laughing Cow is permitted, tasty (the garlic and herb variety), and I eat it. Hubby loved the concert; I liked it. At times a bit too heavy on the screaming guitar and over-amped (and thus unintelligible) vocals for my taste. (And to think that used to be my preference! Strange what age does to one.) They had some sort of problem with their ticket scanners initially which caused *seriously* long lines at all entrances so the 8:00 concert didn't get underway until 8:45 and wasn't over until 11:20. Now it's midnight and I'm ready for bed... just taking a few minutes to wind down.

Hi Sandra,
Yes, I do have a tea web site. It's the joy of tea. There are some tips there on how to brew it. I prefer black tea, so can't recommend anything personally.

Sherry, sounds like it'll be a marvelous time. Will you be near the water?
Karen, glad you had some fun at the concert. My dd/dh went to a show the other night and both said it was too loud. Sometimes I think the theater people don't think enough about their audience and how loud they've set the dials. They just crank it all up. Watching a Bette Davis movie, she really was an amazing actress wasn't she? My son said he was at the computer this morning and a spider came down from the ceiling right in front of him. Instead of trapping it and getting rid of it he dashed away and didn't return. lol So I swept the ceiling and am looking around for movement but hasn't seen any. I figure it will crawl out of somewhere eventually.....yikes. This talk of tea sends me heading for the chai. |

A very nice site, Jodi. So what is your favorite black tea? With our coffee machine out for repairs, I need all the caffeine I can get.
Thanks, Sandra |

Not Sherry but Door County is a peninsula in northeastern WI which on one side is bounded by Green Bay and the other by Lake Michigan and everywhere up there
is close to the water. I only have been once since unless one drives it's not the easiest place to get to.

Back to the UPS question- EVERYTHING that is shipped by UPS goes through their main terminal and I think it is in Kentucky (could be
wrong about that part) and then to their final destination. We watched a show about UPS awhile back and it was truly amazing. They have got shipping down to an
exact science. When you watch the show and the explanations, it all makes sense. They also plan the drivers routes by only making right turns, so there is no
waiting at red light turn lanes and it has saved the company millions. Such a simple idea and yet what a good one.
The tea site was cool. I love tea. I can't drink coffee at all, I must be allergic or something because I get ill within 1/2 an hour of drinking some. |

I like that tea too (tea too, tea for two?), Jodi. I also love any Assam/Darjeeling black teas.
That workshop sounds wonderful, Sherry! May I come too? I haven't used acrylics for eons but I'm sure that I could learn quickly and catch up to the class given, say, a couple years practice! Please let us see some of your work if it's not too threatening for you to do so. We promise not to throw vegetables! We will appreciate any and all pieces!

Didn't we see some of Sherry's sketches or paintings before on her blog? Maybe after she came back from Costa Rica?
What was it called? It was a clever name... ah, it's in her profile if you want to look.

UPS air would go through Louisville KY, but not UPS ground shipments In IL everything goes to a HUGE complex outside Chicago (it's right off the Tri State
at 75th St in a suburb called Hodgkins)--much of which comes in by dedicated trains and then gets routed out. It's a rough place to work as the cab company
I use to deal with certain chores has a contract with UPS to haul people to the clinic they send people there all the time.
