Well, that's not the way I remember the story... so far at least. But then, of course, I have a terrible memory these days.
Part 2 is on next Sunday night. What are the chances I'll remember that?

I taped it so I could watch the Yankees. Now that I know part 2 is next week, I'll watch it during the week.

It was super!! They have only changed one small detail: Catherine is now making a film (for TV?) instead of writing a book and she's got a difficult teen
daughter as a backstory. Otherwise, it's faithful. Great character actors too!
I needed to jog my memory and ended up reading the whole last couple of chapters and stayed up till 1 am. I've done this more than once lately. Now I'm dragging my tail feathers this morning. (Big sigh). It was worth it though.

Betsy, I need to go back and read parts again as well. I don't remember the character of Catherine at all and really dislike her. Off to find the book on
my shelves.

WOW this should be fun--Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin cohosting the Oscars. Good luck to the timekeeper and censor. LOL Two wild and crazy guys.

Watched Part 1 of PofE last night. I don't remember the story at all. some of the names were familiar but that's about it. I'm with Sandra, I
don't think C is a very good mother and isn't very likable.

Catherine isn't at all likeable on the TV show however, in the book, she was a writer without a teen dd and her angst which makes a huge difference. Go
back and skim the book like I did and you'll remember what's going on in no time!

I started to say earlier that I need to get hold of the book and do exactly that because I seem to remember at least one significant difference so far. I do
remember that Catherine was a writer and it was her retrospective on the event that got everything started.

That's right, Karen. Good for you! You remember more than I did. I remembered that there was a major plot twist at the end and that I loved the book but
not a lot more than that. Going back to it helped bunches.

I had taped Place of Execution last weekend and finally got to watch it today, in preparation for part 2 tonight. About half-way through I remembered about the
dark room, but I'm thoroughly confused about other bits. Either I've misremembered--highly likely--or they've change a key plot point. Now, where
did I put that book?

Jill, is this the way you remember it:
I'm sure it was a library book for me so I'd have to check it out again to check it out.

Just double-checking my local PBS schedule to make sure I have the time right for PoE and saw a show coming up this evening called Islands of Britain about the
Shetland Islands; that's the location of the Ann Cleeves novels mentioned the other day for anyone who's interested.

Karen, Amazon has the Look Inside feature for A Place of Execution, but since it's only an hour from now, I'm going to wait and watch instead of
peeking. I didn't read your spoiler for that reason. But here's what I think I remember that's confusing the heck out of me:

I'm watching part 1 of the finale of Project Runway. So sad that one of the designers is ill, I can't imagine how she's able to be there and do
anything. For those of you who are fashion knowledgeable, how come they don't come with their garments done? Is it because there is so much fitting that
has to be done at the end once they find models? It seems one year some guy showed up and said he was done and kind of sat around until his models were chosen
which makes me think they could arrive with more of the garments completed.
