PBee, I don't know if it's still true or not but it used to be the case that the Bell operating company (phone company), here at least, made all their
drivers plan their routes for right turns only for accident avoidance purposes. Even if that's not why UPS does it, it still makes sense.

You guys are funny about baseball, I used to be a sports widow and since I have been married to my second husband I don't even know
there are sports anymore!
I'm happy you all are happy, though,
except for those who are losing right now, better luck next time.

Heard the Yanks won, Jill must be happy. :)
The chai was good. I have some I can steep or some I pour out of a carton. to either I add milk although I don't have a steamer. Frosty morning but the sun will burn it off soon. Hope spring in NZ is glorious, Hey Chris, did your tiny plants survive? |

YANKEES WIN!!!!!!!!
I'm happy too. Wonder when the parade will be. :-) Olle, the other day I pulled out what I thought was a chai teabag from the cupboard. When I poured the water in, it turned red. I'd grabbed the wrong bag; it was red zinger. Good thing I hadn't put milk in!

Oh my, yes, milk in red zinger doesn't sound very good at all. Hmmm, was it Halloween you did this? red drink is good and creepy for that day.
Must drag myself away from computer and do work..........blah. |

Congrats to all the Yankee fans. What an accomplishment.
I like tea in the colder months. Jodi, your tea page is very informative. I had no idea you were so knowledgeable about tea. Your coffee machine is out to be fixed? The idea of that give me the creeps. Olle, do you make your own chai? Doing the happy dance! Finished all the work for my class. Giving the presentation in a couple of hours. woohoo...... ah, but wait - my new class begins Tuesday. 7 things due the first day of class. sigh

I went downtown tonight and the lighting on the trees on State St. reminded me of the old K Mart Blue Light Specials! |

How funny, Tom. And I must say your camera does a good job in low light; I'm jealous.

This is a classic Colorado situation. A week ago today we were all but shut down with more than two feet of snow on the ground; today we broke a record with a
high temp of 77 degrees. Tomorrow is supposed to be just as nice but probably not record breaking.

I took the picture with the camera on my Iphone--I have heard that the camera on the 3GS is even better, but mine did a good job in the UK and here so I will
take it for now. The difference between men and boys and the price of their toys comes to mind.

That is funny Tom, blue light special.
When I gave my older son my old Honda station wagon, he added a bumper sticker "Whoever dies with the most toys wins" Within a few weeks?months? he put his dirt bike (like a motorcycle) in the back, stopped short, and the bike busted through the back window. Fitting, no? Just glad he wasn't hurt.

Mary, I've never thought of making my own chai but it's intriguing. Do you have a recipe you use?
Jill, wow! do you remember if it hit a car behind him? So this is why we're supposed to secure everything? I've heard of items being stuck into a dashboard after being flung from the back to the front, those water bottles in the back of the car could be lethal. Karen, I guess living in a place with a huge range of temps keeps you flexible and enhances your ability to adapt, right? Could use that on a resume if you ever need one. :) Jodi, will you go to the parade? (Yankee) We're supposed to have very pleasant weather this weekend which is nice because I'm going on a night away with the Girl Scouts. Their menu calls for cooking outside so hooray for no rain. We were going to hike but one of the girls is on crutches so we can't but that's ok. There are plenty of others things to do. |

My thoughts and prayers to the families at Fort Hood, very tragic, my husband had severe PTSD (which is probably what brought on his
dementia) and he did his basic training at Fort Hood before going to VN. When we will learn?

Does anyone remember whether Betsy's SIL is at Ft. Hood? They're in Austin, right? What a nightmarish story. Hope all is well; no reason he would have
been in that area if I remember correctly.
PBee, your husband has had a rough go of it, hasn't he. Sorry. Olle, no one got hurt, thank goodness.

Gotta brag, sorry, can't help it. David just painted this portrait of his niece and nephew. I know you can't love it as much as I do, but I really had
