Transgressional fiction is a form of fiction in which the story centers around one or more characters who feel confined by the current norms and expectations of society. These characters, throughout the course of the story, attempt to break out from those boundaries and find that which they are looking for, be it better self-identity, inner peace, or anything else that they are unable to attain within the current boundaries. Almost by definition, the actions these characters perform are frequently anti-social. Famous examples of transgressional literature, such as those cited below, have aroused controversy, as the characters' anti-social lifestyles may emphasize the negative or violent connotations that adjective carries. At the same time, transgressional fiction is less bound by societal restrictions, and it is capable of pungent commentary upon the society its characters inhabit.
Welcome Mari, new here myself.
Most readers I know have a "transgressional life"..LOL
I will have to check out this fellow. He sounds very interesting.

I'm a relative
"newbie" myself and like you, couldn't find a local f2f bookclub in my area, (NE Ohio) and joined this one! I just wanted to tell you that you
made an excellent choice of online book forums/chats. Members here are not only welcoming and very nice, I'm already being exposed to
books that I normally don't read and/or like AND LIKING THEM... A LOT! LOL For me, exposure, that's very important... The diversity
too. I'm sure you'll enjoy it "here"!
I haven't been able to be here a lot but so far everyone has been nice.
Nice to find a place to talk with fellow booklovers.
