Louise Penny's New One | #43 | ||
|
Was anyone here aware that Louise Penny's new book is out in Canada and the UK? I just stumbled across it in my library listings. It's called
The Murder Stone, and this time is set in summer:
Wealthy, cultured and respectable, the Finney family is the epitome of gentility. When Irene Finney and her four grown-up children arrive at the Manoir Bellechasse in the heat of summer, the hotel's staff spring into action. For the children have come to this idyllic lakeside retreat for a special occasion. This is exciting news, isn't it? I am quite tempted to rush off and get it now, but I do like to read it during the season it is set in...... maybe that will coincide with the US publication?

A Rule Against Murder, the US title for the new Louise Penny, won't be out until Jan '09, of course. Grrrr--stupid, why didn't they time it for
Christmas giving? Dumb dumb.

Interesting, a new NZ author posted about his book in our Promote Your Book Here forum. do you think he knows we love our New Zealanders?
Should we make Louise's new book another Who Dun It for Feb?

Never heard of him either and the excerpt from his book sounds more American than NZ.
And I'm with Chris - nice to feel wanted

Thanks for the info about the new Penny book. I'm on the hold list too but I'm number 8. Love the cover on the CD audio one, it's pines/log cottage

There is something odd about our online library system. I think it doesn't work on weekends. Whenever I request books on weekends, they don't show up
on my list, even though it tells me the request was successful. I will have to wait until Monday to request the new Penny.
Another funny thing is that when I mistakenly looked for Murder Stone, it came up with a Charles Todd book. Sandra |

I haven't even bothered to look here -- I know it won't show up this far in advance of publication.

Speaking of Charles Todd, thanks to Sandra mentioning him, I just looked at the library and he has a new book on order. "A Matter of Justice" I'm
18th in line. :) Thanks.

Thanks from me too, Olle. I went online and found Matter of Justice in our catalog but I couldn't reserve it for some reason. I will keep trying though. I
did finally get the Penny though. Maybe I have too many holds.
