We saw Night at the Museum- if you liked the first one and you like Ben Stiller in general then you'll like this one too. I enjoyed it, nothing cerebral-
just fun. I am planning to go to Angels and Demons this weekend and I'm looking forward to that.

My daughter saw it last week and said it was great -- much better than the book. They changed the ridiculous ending so that would certainly help.

Funny, I remember the ending of the Da Vinci Code, but not what happened late in Angels and Demons. The statues stick in my mind; that's it.

I enjoyed the movie and to be honest, I do not remember how the book ended (I'll have to look it up) but the movie ending was fine. I liked this one better
because Langdon is working with the police instead of being a renegade. I guess I find that more believable. I didn't feel like it was anti-religious or
anti-science. I remember when I read the book that I also did not feel like it was slanted either way and I enjoyed seeing the Vatican at work. I think there
is room for ritual and tradition even in our techno world. I saw it as more of just a thriller.

I wonder what the new Dan Brown book will be like............. I must admit to enjoying The Da Vinci Code, but then I did read it before all the hype hit the
fan....

Jane, I did the same and was slightly embarrassed to have enjoyed it when all the hoopla did hit. I'm admitting now, I'm going to read it unless
severely warned away.

Ok I'll admit, I liked it too and read it right about the time I joined BB. I was actually embarrassed to talked about it and say I liked it at the time
because you were all reading so much more "sophisticated" books! I now know better of course!
Movies, to avoid the noodle....I just watched Charlie Wilson's War and The Sentinel while working on thesis edits. Both were ok, must of been in some sort of political thriller mood when I put them in the queue. (My netflix queue is so long it takes a few months before the movies get to the top)

We went to see "Up" tonight and overall enjoyed it but it was a varied experience. The animation and voices were super but the story starts out on
quite a sad note but then becomes pretty much an upbeat movie after that beginning. Ed Asner in the character (voice) was terrific and whomever had the young
boy's part was really good! There is a nasty dog gang in one part of the movie that I could have done without but that was the only part I didn't like.
Even the sad story at the start was necessary to set the stage for the subsequent film action. It ends well and in a positive mood that is welcome after the
mid-movie tension. Of course, you must have tension to have a film to watch and it's just enough. There are several sort of "in jokes" that are
very funny when you stumble over them and there's a really sweet dog to off-set the growly ones! Funny! We all liked it but be aware that it really
isn't designed for small children; it could be scary for them imo.
