2.0 Liked the others better. Main issue for me was not believing the killer would choose the victim for the reason stated. Liked the new location, always neat
to see more of Canada.

2.5 for me, similar reasons to Olle. I miss the old characters though if I didn't have 3 Pines to compare it to then maybe it would get a 3. I really did
like the sugar concept but the reason for the murder was hard to believe and the sex-less child was just weird.

I guess mine would be 2.75 because of the who and why. Enjoyed most of the characters even though I missed Ruth and the others.

Make mine 2.75 for the same reasons as Courtney's.

2.75 for all the reasons given above. Well, mostly because I didn't buy the doer. But I really enjoyed the how and the characterizations.

I'll join the rest of you. I love the writing and Gamache but the murderer and the murderie just didn't work for me. I'm really looking forward to
the next book. I'll just nominate it for our Nov. read now,k!

I just finished reading it (and found two purple post-it notes left by Christine inside... p.200 and nothing happening). I agree, not up to the others. The
murder explanation didn't make sense. 2.5

LOL at purple post-its where nothing happens. I'll bet there's something there that caught Christine's eye or imagination.
You know, often I'll stick a little tiny piece of paper in (because I never have post-its handy) and when I go back later... I can't for the life of me figure out why I did that!

Hi all! I've been absent in person, but present in reading... at least, this book! I rate it a 3.0 -- I agree that, while I enjoyed the new location and
learning more about Gamache's wife, I didn't quite buy it... I'll have to jump off to spoilers, though, to say anymore.
