I will begin this with, 'everything turned out ok'. I was playing T Ball with my grandson, a plastic bat and a plastic ball. I was showing him how to hit the ball and I whacked it pretty hard and the ball hit my Boxer, Baby, right in the eye! She yelped and ran into the house and I went after her to console her. Poor thing. Well, about an hour later my son's girlfriend asked me, "What happened to Baby's eye?" I looked at her and she was sitting on the couch and had one eye half open and the other was shut and swollen! She looked like an old (human) boxer after a bad fight! My precious Boxer looked like an old boxer. It was almost comical. We put hot and cold clothes over her eye and she didn't resist so it must have made it feel better for her. The next morning both eyes looked perfectly normal and she is as active as ever. This is one tough dog. In her 7 years of life she has been attacked by a Rottweiler (and had to have 3 pins permanently put in her paw). She was hit by a car and on death's door for 2 days and ended up with a plastic hip. She stuck her nose into the weed whacker (while my husband was using it!). She was attacked by a Pit Bull recently and now a baseball in the face. And just keeps going and going. I just love this dog!
