Well, this is more like it, isn't it? Have we gotten to the real victim or is this one a result of the first?
It would be interesting if Sarah dun it, simply because some comment had been made about the weakest being the most likely, or something like that. I can't see why Jeffrey would have a motive, but Paolo, Violet, or the family would. Violet makes the most sense from a 'stand to gain' pov, but we really don't have any hard information yet. Usually the classic mysteries have laid fair clues along the way that would make guessing possible from the first corpse on, even if we guess wrong. Either I don't see the clues, or they're not there and fair. Onward. |

Well, I didn't see THAT coming! Here I was all caught up in trying to figure out which sibling had the most motive, then someone else ups and dies on me! I
agree with Jill's assessment that usually by this time I'm picking through the clues and starting to focus, but I'm totally missing this one. So,
without any backing, I'm sticking with Jeffrey the secretary as my guess. I think he just finally had enough, and when Sarah rebuffed him, it was the
proverbial straw....

I am not sure if it is Jeffery but he does have run of the place.

love the last line
'Thanks,' said St. Just. 'We'll just sit around and wait for someone to confess, then.' I do like St. Just and Fear. Bet he had fun with that name growing up and as a copper, eh? I did think Adrian would be the first to be killed until the author put such an emphasis on Ruthven. But I figured it would get around to him eventually. This whole family is so off, right now it's making me think of Peter's family in that LPenney book when they were all at the lodge. So glad I don't live this way. Agreement with all, we don't know nothing! so much is unknown. so I'll stick with Paolo. |

I'm thinking is Adrian really the Davies guy that Violet was with at 3 am in the morning in her alibi for the murder of her first
husband?

I'm guessing Paulo, for no other reason than he seems the most unlikely! In collusion with his mother?
