i read a book years ago im trying to find, its about a yong man that apperntices in every type of magic there is to learn, illusion, alchemy and others only to fumble each spell just before its compleation, it turn out later in the series that hes is a master of some type over all forms and this is why hes attempt had all failed. In these books, the type of coinage is enchanted metal disks, when evil forces cause magic to begin failing theres disk lise there enchantment therefore there value, this young man at the time is apperenticed to an old illusionest, he helps the man hide his failing magic by creating scernery to hide that the illusion is weak, there is also a woman friend of his that has an uderwater bank with the enchated disk which are failing to hide this fact they flood the grotto, therefore re-estblishing its value, the evil forces had made a new currancy called scent stones that magically drew people to want and value them but there potancy faded in time leaving the people with plain stones, later in the story theres a great battle using magic and weapons in which the young man finds his talent and saves the day, if u know the title to this book/series please email me at cumberledge2@alltel.net, your help is greatly appriciated, thank you once again, signed amber
